Students are required to participate as a Group in presenting their slides either in person or online. The students work in groups to present their work on managing their business. They are assessed on participation and the presentation of their solution.
This 15-minute group presentation enables students to bring together ideas, research and analysis individually and collectively completed to pursue a holistic and integrated approach for your company during the simulation game. The students are expected to explain usage of theories taught how they impacted outcomes when running the business simulation game.
Please note, there will also be a 5-minute Q&A session at the end of the presentation. Students will get verbal feedback after the team’s presentation, but marks will not be disclosed at this time nor any indication of a pass or fail. Please note that all team members need to present a part.
Assessment is based on a business simulation model from SimVenture. SimVenture Classic focuses on 6 months of a company’s life. Students must think about almost all aspects of start-up and small business management.
Juggling money, time, skills, stress and tiredness, students must analyse all available information, make decisions and deal with arising consequences of running a company.
You are asked to evaluate and reflect on the experience in running a computer company using SimVenture while in a team.
You will evaluate 5 business elements (Marketing, Finance, Operations, Technology, HR) reflecting on the Theory learned in class applied to your SimVenture business practice.
Students must demonstrate how the theories learned in class were used in their activities within the business game and how the outcomes were affected either positively or negatively.
Academic references must be used where relevant to demonstrate greater understanding of the subject.
