Overview of the subject company- details, statistics, information to introduce the topic

For this final term assignment, students can choose one partner and their topic. You must seek approval of your topic and if you have used a similar “topic” in other courses, it may be denied.You will conduct an in-depth report as your topic relates to marketing strategies, best practices, innovations, challenges, and future trends. Regardless of the topic, this will be the focus.Once you determine your topic, email me with your partners full name and submit your topic for approval by Monday, November 15 at 5pm. Once approved you may begin. Although you are submitting this by PowerPoint, do not treat this as a “live presentation”, consider this a report done in slides and ensure the depth of each slide reflects the work you would write in a report.


You may select one of the following topics:
?    Arts and Entertainment field – singer, band, author to profile
?    An entrepreneur in the hospitality, tourism, event, or marketing industry to profile
?    A tourism entity, company or restaurant brand.
Large brands such as Tim Horton’s will not be accepted. You must also choose a North American brand or local company. (I choose Dairy Queen brand) A word of caution – all categories must be related to marketing. Do not fall into creating this from an operational standpoint or information, full marks when applied back to marketing theory. Do not make this an essay, approach this from you being a marketing consultant outlining your topic in business paragraphs, bullet points where applicable, images and similar. Cut and paste from websites will be subject to potential plagiarism.

Your assignment will include but not limited to:
?    Overview of your “subject” – details, statistics, information to introduce the topic
?    Outline the 7P’s as it relates to your company selected
?    The story (as it relates to building platform or brand) and the successes of that company or brand
?    How to use – or how they used marketing strategies – examples of segments, targets, positioning, were they successes or failures?


?    Best Practices – solid examples of what they are doing – innovation, ideas, past or current. 
?    CSR- something related to CSR or UNSDG, trends, digital marketing, greening of product, company or service. Again, make sure you link this to theories from your lectures.
?    Challenges in marketing – obstacles, failed promotions, negative publicity or similar and how did they overcome?
?    Campaigns used, promotions, social media platforms, highlights of their efforts – your opinion or comments.

All choices must include:
