Pearl Orchard Ltd is one of hundreds of apple juice manufacturers in the United Kingdom. The existence of too many juice producers has created a very competitive market, but apple juice manufacturers have been encouraged by the rising demand from consumers and the growing tourism and hospitality sector for improved and locally produced apples, apple juice and cider. A new management team has been recruited to rebrand the firm and deliver a newly defined strategic objective for an innovative and sustainable future for the enterprise. Pearl Orchard prides itself on being an ethical and sustainable enterprise. The team is under pressure to ensure that the enterprise acts at all times to the letter and in the spirit of the company’s Ethics and Sustainability Principles, which is publicly available and incorporated in the company’s mission and vision.

Part 1: (50 marks)
Write a report about creating and managing a sustainable enterprise, and about yourself as a member of an enterprise management team.
1.Introduction: Set out the background to the SE (Sustainable Enterprise) simulation and imagine your role as a member of the management team, summarise the exchanges that took place during team formation and rebranding of the company, and describe the outcomes (15 marks).
2.Reflection and analysis: Reflect on your personal experience in your specific role, how you contributed to addressing particular sustainable innovation challenges, highlighting any insights you have gained into managing a sustainable enterprise (20 marks).
3.Conclusions: Identify three lessons from creating the above SE simulation and briefly explain how you might apply them in managing a future sustainable enterprise. At least one of the three lessons should focus on your personality and management style (15 marks).
Part 2: Developing entrepreneurial innovations in an enterprise (40 marks)
Based on your experience of managing Pearl Orchard Ltd write a short report, outlining three actions you would take to sustain the positive societal impacts of the enterprise using entrepreneurial innovations. Your report should demonstrate that you can select and apply relevant material (e.g., theories, concepts, evidence) from the module. The word limit is 800 words.
Your report should include the following sections:
1.Introduction: Begin with a very brief outline of what you see as the positive societal impacts of Pearl Orchard Ltd and your proposed entrepreneurial innovation, to provide a background for the rest of the report. This should be no more than two paragraphs (10 marks).
2.Three action points: Explain how you would begin to use the entrepreneurial innovation to sustain the societal impacts identified earlier (30 marks).
