Assessment Criteria:
Group presentation analysing a contemporary public health issue for a chosen population and considering the role of the nurse in promoting health and preventing ill health.
In your project group you will choose a specific population and explore the data. You will choose a relevant public health issue for the population
You will analysis a relevant intervention and consider the role of the nurse
You will need to consider
- Rationale for chosen topic – why is this a contemporary public health issue?
- Present chosen population data and link to wider determinants and health inequalities for that population (LO1 and LO3)
- Focus on one existing initiative relevant to chosen topic and consider barriers and facilitators to implementation (LO2)
- Analysis of the underpinning theories and models relevant to that approach, population and chosen topic. Consideration of the macro and micro context (LO4)
- The role of the nurse in promoting health and preventing ill health relevant to topic (LO4)
