Developing a High-Level Project Proposal for Operational Improvement or Optimization

Question:

you identified an area of operations improvement or optimisation for your organisation. In CW2, create a 10-slide undelivered presentation in which you develop a high-level project proposal that will address the improvement or optimisation issue identified. Your slides should include critical notes.

Example framework:
a.Option Development and Appraisal.  
b.Business Case.  
c.Scope.  
d.Plan.  
e.Organisation.  
f.Risk.  
g.Stakeholders.  
h.Change and Quality.  

Above framework template is a guide but you are free to approach this task in your own way and organise your presentation as you deem must suitable. There are many other frameworks for developing a project proposal and some of you may be more familiar with something used at your organisation. Feel free to adapt.

Component 2 will test students understanding of project management in relation to strategic operations improvement and the ability to develop suitable project management proposals to address an operational issue.

Coursework Learning Outcomes:

The coursework for this postgraduate module is designed to help students develop an in-depth understanding of the underlying role of project management approach in operations strategy.

Please ensure that you allocate space as appropriate to address the issues adequately. You are expected to draw on an appropriate and wide range of theories and models to underpin and support your arguments.

You are free to make assumptions where you do not have adequate information but it is important that you state, within the text, what the assumptions are.  
Please, pay due attention to proof reading, layout and standard of presentation.

Use Harvard Referencing throughout the report and include a reference list at the end of your submission listing books, journal articles or websites to which you have referred to and cited in preparing the report.
One or two additional slides may be used to provide your list of references.

Your submission should demonstrate a strong ability to apply a project management framework in undertaking a strategically significant operations improvement within the context of your case study organisation.  

Your presentation should be submitted electronically using the Moodle Dropbox. You are allowed to make multiple preview submissions before the deadline but please ensure that your final version is submitted at least 1 hour before the deadline to ensure that you can access a final preview of your submission.
