On successful completion of this module students will be able to:

2.Identify and evaluate usability, accessibility, professional and ethical standards relating to the design and development of interactive systems.

3.Demonstrate an ability to design, test and evaluate interfaces using UX design principles.

WordEdu Limited is an online education provider. They are looking to design and develop an up-to-date system to cater for the needs of their growing business effectively. Due to the rapid increase of online education and to stay ahead of its competitors, the company has decided to improve the layout of its existing system in order to improve learners online experience.

For the purpose of this assignment, you are required to improve the end-users’ journey for the following online services. Consider the website, mobile and iPad-friendly design.

Deliverables

You will demonstrate critical appraisal of the UX theories required for the design and implementation of a prototype system for the WordEdu

You are also required to implement a full lifecycle UX analysis and design, utilising Jesse James Garrett’s methodology for designing digital products.

Conduct  research on interviewing techniques and design a UX qualitative  interview questionnaire

Construct at least two user personas based on evidence gathered during user research.

Demonstrate application through 2 user stories or suitable UX process mapping techniques.

Implement high fidelity wireframes

Test wireframes with users to prove hypothesis on process development.

Design and implement style tiles and guides – apply UX and branding concepts

A critical appraisal of usability and accessibility considerations for the successful implementation of a prototype solution in an organisation using UX design theory and best practices.  

Preparation Guidelines for Assignment Report

1.All components of the assignment report must be word processed (hand written text or hand drawn diagrams are not acceptable), font size must be within the range of 12 point to 14 point including the headings, body text and any texts within diagrams.

2.Standard and commonly used fonts such as Times New Roman, Arial or Calibri should be used.

3.Your document must be aligned left or justified with line spacing of 1.5.[/

4.All figures, graphs and tables must be numbered and labeled.

5.Material from external sources must be properly refereed and cited within the text using the Harvard referencing system.

Any act of plagiarism (presenting another person’s published or unpublished work e.g. from a book or the web in any quantity without adequately identifying it and citing its source) or collusion (copying another learner’s assignment or work submitted by others in previous years and submitting it as your own effort) is considered academic misconduct and will be dealt with according to the regulations.
