Section 1 Introduction (5%, 200 words) - Rationale behind the adoption of Project Management tools

  1. You are required to submit one detailed plan of this report for the group, which will be discussed and peer-reviewed in class. If you do not submit and pass this formative assessment work then the mark for the final report will be capped at 65%;
  2. All members of the group are collectively responsible for ensuring that all of the preparation work and the final report are completed to a standard with which they are all satisfied, within the time available.

Section 1 Introduction (5%, 200 words) - Rationale behind the adoption of Project Management tools

Section 2 Work Breakdown Structure (20%, Application-based Diagram)

Create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) with 20 ‘child’ work packages that details the activities involved in all phases of the lifecycle including project management activities.

(Use Word, Visio, PowerPoint or similar app to do this and include it in your report).

Section 3 Network Diagram (20%, Application-based Diagram)

Using the work packages from your WBS create a network diagram (ND) including the duration (120 days), ES/EF, LS/LF and float time estimates and showing any dependencies on previous packages.  Highlight the critical path(s) in your diagram.

(Use Word, Visio, PowerPoint or similar app to do this and include it in your report)

Section 4   Scheduling (10%, Application based Diagram)

Using the packages, durations and dependencies from your ND create a resource-levelled schedule and Gantt chart for your project to show the sequence in which the packages will be completed.

(Use Microsoft Project (MSP) or similar project management software to do this and include it in your report).
