Summative Assessment: Coursework-Essay

You will present an essay that focusses on a topic of interest from the module, drawing on relevant reading to provide a critical exploration of the meaning of mental health and ill-health, along with the management and promotion of wellbeing and recovery. 

Some suggestions here may include selecting one topic or area of interest and apply 1 or 2 perspectives to critically explore, compare and contrast. You may structure it in line with the four learning outcomes or integrate your discussion on the learning outcomes throughout.

Ensure the essay has a clear introduction developments and conclusion that is within the required word limit (3000). 

Introduction approx. 300 words

1- Examines and evaluates various (relevant) perspectives in understanding the concept of mental health and ill-health.

2- Appraise theory and evidence to demonstrate an understanding of multidisciplinary approaches to meeting mental health needs.

3 –The essay demonstrates a critical appraisal/understanding of the diverse nature of determinants to mental health and well-being.

4 - Explores contemporary issues/debate in mental health care, drawing on research, legislation and policy frameworks.
