Instructions Overview The assignment takes the form of a technology article written for retail businesses. The purpose of such a report is to provide insight on technology trends to support business planning around technology purchase. You will be expected to demystify the various methods of processing payments online, drawing both from the material covered in class and from individual research. Be careful to communicate in a language to your audience: small to medium size business owners! There’s no set format of how to write this article, as that is part of how your paper will be assessed. This article will require research in the various solutions to processing payments and presenting the best fit for these various solutions. You are assessed on how well you can research the different solutions that are available and describe in a simple manner how they work and the best application for the technology. Instructions This report is for a group of Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in different retail businesses with both physical and an online presence, but likely are not selling online. Provide a report on the future of financial transactions for SMEs based on current trends and emerging technology. The report should focus on forms of payment and processing for SMEs. Hence, inform the business on technology and services that are available to receive payment for their goods. This is a very diverse group of retailers; hence the report should focus on different solutions and not focus on a single recommendation. For example, for a business to decide on a vehicle, e.g., is there a single brand of car, truck, van, etc. that is right for a small business? The theme is how can business owners use technology to receive payment for their goods from customers and what solution is the best fit for different scenarios. Report structure & format Your report should be structured as follows: Use 11 point font and 1.5 line spacing. Use professional/business writing style (third person, no grammar or spelling errors). Sources of information must be cited using the Harvard referencing style (please include both in-text references and bibliography).
