Challenging Experience/Conflict Management (marked out of 25, worth 25% of the mark for this course) In this assignment, you will write about a conflict that you have previously experienced in your life. Use a challenge that you feel comfortable discussing now, not something that is still fresh or stressful for you. Describe the conflict. What happened; include the circumstances that lead up to it and any other contributing factors. Describe how you managed the conflict. What were your choices? What did you do? Why did you decide on that choice? How did it turn out? What did you learn from the experience? What would you have done differently if faced with the situation again? Use references from this class (textbook or learning activities) to support your reflection. You may only use your textbook as a reference. No other sources will be accepted as references. You will also need to submit a writing outline for this assignment and a writing checklist with your paper. Templates for these document are linked under Assignment #2. The outline will be worth 5 marks and the paper will be marked out of 20 for a total of 25 marks. See document titled Student Writing Resource for more information. Be sure to use your own words when describing and analyzing the conflict. If you are quoting or paraphrasing definitions or explanations from the textbook, you will require an in-text citation, i.e. -> (Blazer Riley, 2020). Your assignment should be a minimum of three pages in length up to a maximum of four pages, not including cover page and reference page. Use APA style for formatting and references. Note on Late Assignments Requests for extensions must be emailed to the course professor 48 hours prior to the due date. This means you need to ask for an extension by Monday, October 11th before 0830. Late assignments will receive an overall deduction of 5% for each day it is late. If you earned 85% on your assignment, but submitted one day late, you would receive 80% on the assignment. This also means that if you turn it in at 0845 on the due date, you will still receive the deduction. If you turn it in at 0845 the next day, you will receive a 10% deduction (it’s technically late by 2 days). Assignments that have not been received by 4 days after the due date will NOT be accepted and you will receive a ZERO on the assignment.
