ELCC 0105 Child Observation and Assessment

Question:

Using the textbook, the internet, classroom discussions and PowerPoint slides, gather 10 organized, planned activities that are physical in nature and involve children of varying ages. Find pictures (or take pictures) of the activity so that you will have a visual to remind you of it.

Once your list is complete, write detailed information describing each activity and the materials required (the Requirements are listed below). Remember to cite and reference information and images correctly.

Baseball, soccer, swings, sledding, skating etc. These kinds of activities while physical in nature are either not creative or would involve multiple supplies, field trips etc. The idea of this assignment is to create a resource that you can use in the future.

Requirements:

Your assignment needs to include:

A title for the activity
Objective of the activity – think development and the purpose of physical activity
Activities for varying age groups – state age group
Safety and environmental conditions stated
A description of the activity
Materials needed
A statement of whether it is an outdoor or indoor activity (or both)

If it is an outdoor activity state the season

NOTE: I should be able to have a clear picture in my head of the Activity. For example, If I were “filling in” for the day, would I know how to conduct this activity from start to finish? Detail, Detail, Detail. All activities need to have the above requirements. You may also include pictures.

This assignment may be completed as a Word Document, PowerPoint, PowToon or other suitable format.

Criteria for Grading:

Description of activity, materials needed, (including a picture), objective of the activity, safety considerations and age group and indoor/outdoor indicated.
