The report itself should be no longer than 1500 words excluding title page, appendices and references. You are not limited to the number of original work appendices you many include. Be sure to show the work you have done, such as calculation of financial ratios or SWOT. The salient points from these should be referenced in the body of your report. To stay within this limit and still do a thorough briefing, you are likely to use bullet points or charts for some sections. You must be as concise as possible.
Executive Summary, Issue and Situational Assessment (30%) The report provides solid evidence of understanding and grasp of the organization, the industry, and the situation presented in the case. It shows deep and reflective analysis of the industry and the current situation of the organization for a strategic perspective. The report illustrates understanding and appropriate use of external and internal analysis tools.
Analysis of Strategic Options and Recommendation (30%) The problems, alternatives and final solution presented are sufficiently elaborated and supported with relevant facts from the case, concepts discussed in class and the appropriate use of strategic planning tools/frameworks/theories/models. The Strategic Management Process was properly followed. Alternatives are feasible and the final solution clearly addresses the prioritized list of problems. Alternatives and the final solution are very specific.
Implementation and Evaluation Criteria (20%) This section provides a concise description of next steps including an implementation path as well as criteria upon which the company can judge its success. It is not vague or general but concise and specific. It provides evidence of reflection on the context of the business and makes clear connections from the recommendation to action and ultimately measurements.
