The purpose of this assignment is:
1. To develop, enhance and demonstrate analytical skills.
2. To relate and apply course concepts and tools.
3. To develop a case analysis report via answering assigned ‘crafting and executing strategy’ questions.
4. To apply research skills
Students will independently analyze an assigned case from the Thompson, Strickland textbook, and answer a list of assigned questions (Refer to grading rubric). Additional secondary research is recommended in order to familiarize the student with the chosen industry. In order to receive full credit for each question, students need to sufficiently support answers with relevant application of course concepts and theories.
Unlike the ‘Group Written Case Analysis,’ the ‘Individual Case Study Assignment’ is an independent project. All written case assignments are to be prepared individually: group work is “out of bounds.” If two students submit the same written assignment both will receive zeros for the assignment.
