Health Analytics: COVID-19 Impact Analysis and CDSS Education

Assignment Instructions:

Health Systems Management II (INFO6061) covered two key areas from Weeks 11 to 14 - clinical decision support, and data science. This final individual assignment is intended to enable you to apply the content discussed within the course material in your analysis of the scenario below.

 

Scenario:

Upon graduation from Fanshawe College HSY program, you were recruited as a Junior Health Analyst for a healthcare analytics firm. Your Manager has asked you to conduct a health impact analysis from COVID-19 data as at May 2021. The goal is to show how different jurisdictions across Canada was impacted by COVID-19 up to May 2021 data collection.  

Process:

In completing this health impact analysis, here are the steps and requirements: 

Select ONE of the SIX parameters – cases last 7 days, active cases, recovered, deaths, deaths last 7 days, tests performed   

3. Research and determine the definition or explanation of your chosen parameter

4. Create an analysis of your parameter. This analysis should show how the parameter is varied from one jurisdiction to another jurisdiction (ie) each of the provinces and territories. Your analysis should include graphics such as MS Excel, graphs, charts and/or analytical illustration.

5. Using the analysis, you are to create a presentation of MAXIMUM 10 slides to communicate your analysis. The presentation MUST have at minimum three (3) conclusions that you have developed from your analysis. 

6. In addition, you are to have one (1) slide within your presentation that illustrates how a CDSS alert system can be used to education Data Scientists on the analysis you have completed.
