CDEV 3002 Participatory Action Research

1)    Focusing on the research method of CONDUCTING FOCUS GROUPS
2)    Target audience of individuals or groups who are not familiar with PAR (or research in general,) but who are interested in participating in a PAR project. The objective is that after PRESENTATION, community members without previous research experience would feel adequately prepared to carry out this aspect of a PAR project.
3)    Paper must include the following:
•    A theoretical overview of the topic, presented in clear/plain language
•    Step by step instructions for how this aspect of research is (or could be) conducted (with explanation of possible variations of techniques given different contexts)
•    Examples of how the research approach/method could be used in different contexts in a PAR project (i.e. used working with youth, used working in a geographic community, used working with an online community, etc.) 
•    A demonstration of how to carry out this aspect of research, as one would “in the field”
•    Cite all the sources you are using in the presentation (i.e on the ppt slide, or verbally mention your source of information
•    Provide a list of additional resources where the audience can find more information
4)    All sources of information must be attributed and cited.
