Choose Two Long Answer Questions and Write a Response

Identifying and explaining the three main categories of political violence with historical examples

Choose TWO (2) of the following long answer questions and write a response. Your answers should be at least two double-spaced pages (at least 300+ words) in length for each essay question and written in proper paragraph format (i.e. no point-form). Be sure to answer all parts of the question and provide sufficient details and examples drawn from readings and learning materials to support your ideas.  Please do not use outside sources ( that is, sources other than what has already been provided in the course) to write your paper, doing so will result in a lower or failing grade. Be sure to use proper citation format for your answers.  You do not need to provide a bibliography or work cited list at the end of your paper.  Failure to follow the guidelines for this paper will also result in a lower and or failing grade for this assignment.

Remember, choose only two (2) questions from the following list below:

1. With reference to specific historical examples, identify and explain the three main categories of political violence. Why is it so difficult to (a) establish universally-accepted definitions for these categories, and (b) apply these labels to actual historical events? In your answer, be sure to define the term "political violence."

2. Provide a detailed comparison of the theories offered by Fukuyama, Barber, and Huntington. In your view, do any of these theories provide a useful lens through which to understand political violence in the Post-Cold War era? Why or why not?

       3.Critically discuss the historical transition from Feudalism to the modern day, including references to the Renaissance,                 the Reformation, and the Scientific Revolution. Explain at least three ways in which the global landscape has changed or was different by the end of the early modern era
