The final component of Community Service Learning Project is to complete a self-reflection. Critical reflection is one of the most important parts of the learning process. When you answer each of the questions, use the âDEALâ model to explain your response. Take the time to think about the work that you did; how did you manage the priorities for this project? How did you split the work with your team group? Or, did you end up doing all the work for your group? Be honest with your feedback. I look forward to hearing what you have to say about your participation in this CSL project.
Students will write an essay between 5-1000 words in length. They will use the questions below and knowledge of essay structure to complete this activity. Students are advised to write an introduction and then use the three sub-sections to answer questions in a paragraph format with a conclusion to finish. APA referencing must be used in all cases.
Describe the experience (objectively in some detail): answer the questions of who, what, where, when, why and how.
Examine the experience: what were the objectives of the activity? Did you achieve them? What could be done differently or better?
Articulate Learning: I learned that... ; I learned this when...; This learning matters â¦; In light of this learning...
The reflection questions are built into three categories. They are: understanding social issues, personal insight and cognitive development.
