Students will undertake a project of their choice that directly relates to one oftwo key questions/themes stemming from the course material. The projectcan cover any issue associated with that question/theme. The project must begrounded in academic research (i.e. books and/or articles written byacademics, published by academic presses or journals, and peer reviewed),but non-academic sources can also be used when relevant. At least ?sixacademic sources must be used?.The project will be a write-up that is no more than two and a half pages,single-spaced (neat and tidy—rules of grammar and editing apply); think of itas the outline of a research paper The write-up will include:1.An introductory statement about the topic to be investigated andThesis Statement (a few sentences).2.A paragraph that connects the case study to both neoliberalism andworld-systems theory (four or five sentences).3.A short paragraph that connects the case study to either the ?CommunistManifesto? (with a clear, direct quote) or Anna Tsing’s paper.(approximately three sentences).4.An explanation of the findings of the course project (five sentences).5.An annotated bibliography. The annotated bibliography will include:a.Citations for each of the six academic sources (using anyreferencing style, as long as it is consistent)b.A brief paragraph (two or three sentences) that explains thecontent of the book or journal article
