COMM1340 Business Communications

We have been in COMM 2 for several months and hopefully you have learned some valuable communication skills to take with you at term’s end.

Think through your progress and identify five SPECIFIC things you’ve either learned for the first time or developed further during this course.

Task

Create an 8-slide timed presentation with either audio or video narration throughout –

Your presentation’s body will describe FIVE SPECIFIC skills you have acquired/learned about that you will apply to future studies or your career. (skills for computer science student)

• You will have a title slide, and agenda slide, and a summary slide at the end; that leaves 5 slides for the body: one for each of the communication/writing skills you will discuss.

Your presentation Can Be No Longer Than 2 Minutes – It Must Be Timed (which means, you will need to plan – write – create – rehearse for it to meet the requirements).

• Use a combination of illustrations WITH text on every slide within the ‘body’
• Narrate the slides as a continuous story by using verbal transitions to bridge one topic to the next
• Consult the videos in the content area if you need help in adding audio or video narration
• Record it as a slide slow so it advances/plays automatically
