Selecting a Clinical Question

Select an appropriate nursing clinical question that relates specifically to your current or your desired area of nursing practice. The question must focus on a clinical topic directly relevant to nursing practice.
Describe and show details of your search strategy: The focus for this poster is nursing practice. Therefore, at a minimum, searching in the CINAHL database will be required. Searching in the EBM reviews (Cochrane) and Medline/PubMed may also be very helpful. Google Scholar searches are acceptable; however, not as a primary search strategy. You will be required to: a) briefly describe the search strategy you used in a short paragraph, including search terms used, how they were combined, limits placed on the search, total numbers yielded, and inclusion and exclusion criteria; and b) include a print out of results for all searches in appendices. NOTE: if there is not enough evidence related to your chosen clinical question, you will need to modify your question in order to select a clinical focus that is suitable for presentation.
Select the best available literature and critically appraise the findings: Through a critical annotated bibliography format, you will be required to determine the state of the art in relation to the available evidence.
Determine the implications for nursing practice that emerge from your investigation of this topic and make practical recommendations.
Communicate your findings effectively in an electronic poster format: In addition to an electronic poster developed using PPT or some alternate software package, you must provide a short summary that gives the reader insight into why you made the decisions you did in developing your poster.
