You will choose one culture that you believe has impact in your life. (This may be any culture- race, ethnicity, religion, any subculture, really)
Instructions:
1. Introduce your chosen culture by providing some facts about who they are and where they live.
Include images and a map of the world showing where they live. Or, if this is not applicable, explain to me why you consider this a culture and who this culture is. Make sure it is clear to me as to why this is a culture, and what it is!
2. Describe your culture in detail:
You should include: How culture is learned, how culture is layered, how culture is interrelated and how culture creates structure. You can do so by including any or all of the following.
a. Examples of each of six components of their culture (such as habits and customs as shown in class)
b. Common rites of passage
c. How personal identity is viewed and developed (culture is learned)
d. How gender is perceived
e. What gender roles exist
f. The roles of kinship and marriage
3. Describe the evolution of your culture in detail,: (include any of the following that might be applicable)
a. How the environment has influenced the evolution of the culture
b. How technology has influenced the evolution of the culture
c. How language and culture have influenced each other’s evolution
d. How globalization has influenced the evolution of your chosen culture
4. Reference your work in APA format and include a references slide (also in APA format)
5. Include images throughout your presentation, making sure they accurately represent the culture
6. Make sure it is clear how this culture relates to You.
