Analyzing Bias in News Articles: A Comparison of Two Perspectives on a Shared Event

For this assignment, I’d like you to compare two articles from two different news sources about the same event and see if you can find some examples of bias in the articles. All four articles are flagged as ‘news’, as opposed to ‘analysis’ or ‘editorial’. We might read one or the other and decide that we understand what is going on with the situation.Option 2: Black Lives Matter and the Toronto Pride Parade On the lecture slides, there is a section that lists four articles covering the same 2015 event when Black Lives Matter activists stopped the Pride Parade to make a number of demands. The following four articles either come from a specific journalist, or, take an article written by the Canadian Press and restructure it according to the specific newspapers’ ideas. They must be:
- From two different news sources
- About the same event
- Have two different perspectives 1. Pick TWO articles from the option you chose

2. Read both articles paying close attention to any perceived examples of bias

3. Write a response that compares and contrasts the two articles and how they choose to present the situation
