SOCIO 1009 Sociology

Purpose: Demonstrate your understanding of sociological theory (functionalist, conflict, interactionist, and feminist) in relation to one of the topics discussed this semester (gender and sexuality, family, health and ageing, social change and the environment, etc.).

Guidelines:  Find a reputable article that discusses research in the field, a current event/issue, or something newsworthy to do with one of the topics we have discussed.  

Once you have chosen your article, you will analyse the article.  You can discuss how the information given addresses the four sociological theories.  The impact of the article should be discussed; as well as the weaknesses and strengths of the research/thesis.  You will present your findings in a one-page reflection.
