Please add your response to all of the blank white sections in all of the tables below. The grade you receive for your work is directly related to how effectively you fulfill the given requirements.
This is a term paper question for a philosophy course on the subject of perception. Therefore, it is essential that relevant philosophical material is used to answer it.
1. You write in clear, accurate and precise English.
2. Your work must be fully understandable to someone who is not familiar with the subject of philosophy, its technical terminology, or its theories.
3. You accurately define any philosophical terms you include, as soon after their first appearance as you can. If possible, you also give examples. (You should not define the same term more than once in the Term Paper.)
4. You only include material that is relevant to the specific Term Paper question, and you make it explicitly clear to the reader whyall the material is relevant.
5. You do not contradict yourself (for example, saying that you agree with two viewpoints that are incompatible).
6. You focus on sources and arguments that are within the subject of philosophy, notother subject areas like psychology, business, or marketing.
7. Your work clearly shows that you understand the topic, terms, and theories that you include. (Note: an over-reliance on the use of quotes rather than your own explanations and examples suggests to the reader that you do not understand what you are writing about.)
8. You follow the requirements for providing appropriate MLA in-text citations.
a. You explain the question from a philosophical viewpoint, defining any philosophical terms you use, and giving examples where possible.
b. You give a clear and direct answer to the question, with a brief explanation of your reasoning. (This is known as a thesis statementfor an
‘argumentative’ or ‘position’ essay – the remainder of the essay is about convincing the reader that your thesis statement is correct.)
c. You state which philosophical theories you are going to explain and assess in Section 3 that provide total or partial support and agreement to your answer, and explain how they are relevant to the question. A minimum of one theory should be referred to here.
d. You state which philosophical theories you are going to explain and assess in Section 4 that provide total or partial opposition and disagreement to your answer, and explain how they are relevant to the question. A minimum of one theory should be referred to here. (Note: it is possible that the same theory could appear in Section 3 and Section 4, because there are some parts of it you agree with, and some parts of it you disagree with)
