Team Assignment on Bahrain's Economy, Economic Growth, and Deficit Reduction

• Each team must submit the typed and written research paper (in good form using this template) to the LMS. This team Assignment will be checked by TURNITIN software. The similarity report must not exceed 24%.
• The written assignment will be evaluated for both content and form. You are graded on the following aspects of your team Assignment: Novelty of the idea, and depth of your research, and clarity of presentation. You need to keep me posted on your progress. See the attached assessment/marking rubric.
• Each team member is expected to equally contribute to the written assignment. You are required to fill out the: (a) Marking Criteria on this template; and (b) the attached self-evaluation form (submit the filled out form to my email: bh or via the chat box on MS TEAMS.).
• There is only ONE time submission/uploading on the LMS (repeat paper submission is NOT allowed unless there is a typo error on the submitted paper). Therefore, make sure that your answers are proof read and correct before uploading.
• Teams guilty of dishonest practices such as copying of answers and/or arguments shall be given a ZERO (0) mark.

NOTE: In the introduction part, the scene is set. Your team have to mention what you will discuss and why it is relevant. The main text shows the discussion and analysis of the issue/topic at hand. References to opinions, ideas and facts from other publications such as academic articles, newspapers, statistical publications etc. must be included in this part. Lastly, your team must formulate and summarize your own opinion and take on the situation. For the references, use Harvard style (see attached guideline).  The minimum of references per question is five (5). Do not use Wikipedia or Investopedia.

Question 1: Explain the effect of COVID-19 pandemic on the Bahrain’s economy. How did it affect the production function, the labor demand and/or supply, and potential GDP? Maximum of 800 words.

Question 2: Discuss in length the desirability of economic growth and its opportunity cost. What and how much are you and your team is/are willing to sacrifice for more rapid economic growth in the country? Is the rapid growth of the neighboring GCC nations good or bad for Bahrain? Explain your arguments fully. Maximum of 800 words.

Question 3: Imagine that you are asked to advise the government on ways of decreasing the country’s deficit. What advices would you give and why? How would you justify the advices? Make certain that your suggestions are specific. Explain fully your proposals. Maximum of 900 words.(7 marks)
