The main aim of this paper is to talk about the different trends that have been affecting the public and academic libraries the most. The affects are generally based on the current situation and also based on the future trends. Three particular aspect will be discussed in details to get a better understanding of the factors affecting the trends related to that of the libraries.
To begin with, the first aspect that will be discussed which have major effect on the libraries is Artificial Intelligence. Based on the present-day observation it could be said that AI has been implemented in more and more libraries, and there are several ways in which they have impacted the libraries. The first aspect that will be discussed is context indexing. Till date, it has been seen that indexing has always been a manual and tedious task to carry. It has also been identified that this get done partly by the authors and partly by the publishers.
The main aim of indexing is to provide an overview of the context in which the related, journal, book and the paper on which it was originally thought up (Cox, Pinfield & Rutter, 2019). It has already been identified that all the AI tools required for indexing helps in improving consistency and the quality. It has also been identified that this particular aspect will help in identifying the different concepts and also at the same time will help in assigning them to the corresponding keywords (Vijayakumar & Sheshadri, 2019). Automation of the index will also help the readers to quickly discover relevant new literatures and also at the same time navigate through them. This gets relevantly difficult while doing the same through manual indexing.
Therefore, it is important to mention that with time Artificial Intelligence tools will surely surpass all the human capabilities in indexing and also at the same time this helps in providing accurate and specific material for all the readers. Lastly, it could be seen that this will enable with significantly specific and accurate material for the readers and it has also been seen that this will help university librarians to improve their job. The next factor that comes into play is that Document Matching. Artificial Intelligence are better at processing document and the counts are also accurate as compared to that of the humans.
Now, it has been seen that AI has been able to identify all the differences and the similarities that could be identified in the documents. This also helps in understanding all the relevant resources that the citation system could easily be seen as a popularity competition, but also at the same time it really does not do much more than provided that this could be considered as biased impression to that of the research network. It has also been identified that while implementation of the research landscape mapping and literature reviews. Therefore, it could be said that it is clear that by means of the citation scheme for snowballing and also at the same time in the ideal method for covering everything.
A computer vision relevant to that of the facial recognition and also at the same time facial detection that is a perfect face.com replacement. There are multiple cases where it could be seen free from that of the face detection. Now, it could be seen as the Artificially Intelligent emotion recognition software which have actually allowed the cameras to perpetually look back and this will enable in reading people’s facial micro-expressions, gender and age group in the real time as they watch videos on their computers or mobile devices (Ramana, 2007). This will make everything extremely easy, since face recognition enables understanding of the people who are signing in the library and post that logging out. Keeping human records based on the signature becomes extremely monotonous and also at the same time there are chances for the records might disappear (Valera, Valera & Gelogo, 2015). There are multiple cases it could be seen that people could forget to sign in and also at the same time this would be seen as case of human errors. Based on this observation, it could be said that Face Recognition has major impact on the current trend.
The next factor or the trend that have the capability to create major waves is voice recognition. In this particular system, microphone and speaker gets implemented in order to establish a interactive communication system. It could be said that with the speech recognition library the user’s query will be easily processed and also the same time this queries could be responded by providing the required information to that of the reader (Ajibade & Mutula, 2020). Based on this observation, it could be said that this helps in building a system that is extremely beneficial for the entire library system. It has been seen that there has been multiple cases, if the process gets implemented it will be become significantly easier for the entire process to function in a chain. Speech recognition could be seen as the ability to receive and interpret dictation in order to understand and carry out the commands that are necessary. Next, it could be identified that the concept of voice recognition has primarily gained focus and prominence with the rise of the Artificial Intelligence and also at the same time with the help of intelligent assistant (Oyelude, 2018). Lastly, it could be said that voice recognition system enables the users to simply interact based on the way of speaking.
