Family background: Couple- Chinese migrated in New Zealand 5 years ago. Living in own house. Both are students and are not working. Financially dependent on husbands parents who are supporting the couple from buying house to daily needs and financing studies. Role - wife - support, husband - primary decision maker Wife video calls her parents once a week. Husband texts parents daily but refused to video call. Whenever they have problems, sometimes wife consults husbands family who always defend her from own son. Husband said he is jealous about this. Causes of fights are: wife gets frustrated with husband sleeping very late at night playing video games and waking up very late. They only have dinner together. Wife is alone during breakfast and lunch due to husbands sleeping pattern. The wife also gets frustrated because she thinks husband is lazy because he won't do much of household chores. Husband rarely communicates his problems to wife and described by wife as a man of few words which makes her upset because she thinks she has to always guess what is going on. When they fight, they manifests non-verbal communication by slamming doors and, wife crying on a different room. Not on speaking terms for 4 days maximum. Husband is usually the first person to say sorry and talked about the issue. When both are happy wife expresses this by hugging. They are planning to have kids after their studies but this is not an issue for them at the moment. Wife is also keen to be a house wife but husband refuse. The couple has a family friend that lives close by whom they say they can trust and are good support networks. They also have friends coming for dinner once in a while. Beliefs regarding healthcare - Nurses in the medical centre they attend to are helpful in advocating for immunisations, lifestyle suggestions. Doctors are also very helpful however due to meeting time of only 10 minutes, concerns about the problem have to be fast sometimes they write their concerns in paper so its easy to say but they have good relationship with doctor and they feel that they are well taken care of. They feel healthcare in New Zealand is good and they are satisfied. However, waiting time is long and if condition is not sever you wait longer. They also rely on a friend living in China with their health care needs such as asking for an opinion on concerns regarding health. Community agencies - uses aquatic centre for swimming, goes to library once in a while to borrow books, goes to district council to pay fees.
