Grassland Science and Management: Review of One Aspect

Aims

This assignment is designed to draw upon and develop the grassland science and management skills and knowledge acquired throughout the module.

Task Outline

Although grassland / pasture is a potentially valuable resource for horses, many owners and managers fail to capitalise on this. Whereas pasture might not necessarily be the sole / ideal solution in all circumstances, its potential needs to be realised wherever and whenever possible.
   
This assignment provides you with the opportunity to review information on ONE OF THE FOLLOWING ASPECTS of grassland and its management (derived predominantly from agricultural research and/or other appropriate sources) :

• The ideal pasture for horses

• Creating the ideal pasture for horses

• Managing soil and soil fertility on an equine holding

• Grazing management for horses

• Making high quality haylage for horses
