You have been asked to write 2500-word article which evaluates recent research into the relationship between privacy and information security, and the role that governance can play in ensuring privacy is respected.
Your coursework should be in the form of a fully referenced academic article. You should base your article around an analysis of 5-10 good quality relevant academic (peer reviewed) papers. You may use any of the module materials, resources or any other relevant materials that you find. This analysis can be supplemented by reference to other material including news items and blogs to illustrate any points.
Your final document should use a formal style - this means writing impersonally. Your work should be properly referenced throughout and include a reference list. (You are not required to supply a separate bibliography. A reference list will be sufficient.)
1.Abstract
2.Introduction Giving an overview of the aim and scope of the paper, including a brief review of the GDPR to set up the issues that the main text will explore. You can choose to focus on a particular sector if you wish.
3.Paper selection. It should briefly describe your research approach (how you found the papers, and decided they were of sufficient academic quality to include in your main review), and include a table which lists the papers you have selected, identifies the key themes of the papers, and explains your assessment of their authority.
4.The main text should be focussed around synthesis and analysis structured around the main issues raised in the papers. There should be sections which cover:
5. Issues with the definition privacy,
6.The relationship between security and privacy, and
7.The governance issues raised by supporting privacy.
8.Conclusions. Including the current research challenges that you have identified and recommendations to professionals, and likely developments in next few years: eg the implications of the GDPR
9. References
