Throughout the semester, your class will be asked to complete a variety of communication activities, then share examples in a dedicated forum.
Write a 1500-word report that identifies the strengths and weaknesses in your group’s communication skills.
This report must be based on communication theory from the course. You must examine at least four examples of communications generated by your class.
Your marks for this assessment will be awarded based on the following criteria:
These might include: emails, paragraphs etc.
Explanation of communication types and trends discussed in class
This might include: how / why elements, a sequence of steps, a logical process Solutions proposed to communications issues identified (in the ‘Recommendations’ section)
Evidence from the given reading list
Communication examples from the class forum
Your interpretation of what evidence / example means and why it is relevant
Use of formal, academic language and tone
Use of report, paragraph and sentence structures introduced in class
Use of citations / referencing
You MUST use the report format introduced in class / the template below to structure your work, and should also observe the recommended paragraph structures.
Some advice on formatting is set out below; however, you should also engage with the guidance and example resources listed on the VLE.
All recommendations should be supported by evidence from the given reading list, as well as examples from the class communications forums. This evidence and example must be appropriately formatted in terms of citations and references, observing the Harvard Anglia style.
Your report should include all of the elements included on the template on the following page in same order that they appear there.
