Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) are increasingly under pressure when competing on global and international level. During the past few years, MNEs had to alter their strategies and operations in the global markets because of the changes in the surrounding external business environment.
By drawing on institutional theories discussed in the class (formal and informal), critically discuss what aspects of the political, economic, legal and cultural factors that MNEs need to consider when operating in a foreign market and when taking the decision to enter a new foreign market with real examples discussed in the class.
1.Assess students’ understanding on how MNEs operate on the global level.
2.Assess student’s understanding on how the external business environment can affect firms operating in the international business context.
3.Assess student’s knowledge on how political, economic, legal and social factors can have a significant impact on firms’ international operations at the global level.
