Learning outcomes and assessment criteria specific to this assignment:

On completion of the assignment, students should be able to demonstrate their ability to:

1.Apply knowledge and critical evaluation of organisational strategic direction to the development of Supply Chain and Operations resources and capabilities.

2.Demonstrate evaluation of approaches to global integrated holistic Supply Chain Management.

3.Diagnose the implications of relevant Supply Chain ethical issues and recommend guidelines for their management.

4.Contrast and critically discuss different ways of assessing organisational and Supply Chain performance.

The students are requested to complete a 3000 words report as the assessment for this module. This should cover all four learning outcomes as expressed in the marking criteria.

Part 1: A case analysis on Supply Chain ethical issues (About 800 words, 25% mark)

Please read the case of “Visionex, Inc.” company as indicated in the appendix and answer the questions following the case.

Part 2: A critical supply chain and/or operation strategy discussion, evaluation, and implementation for company Adidas: (About 2200 words, 75% mark)

(1)Discover what is the vision and/or mission of Adidas, and analyse its business strategy by using Porter's generic strategies model with critical discussion.

-In addition, students can also include the exploration of business objectives, as well as the analysis of the competitive advantages of Adidas.

(2)Critical discuss and evaluate the supply chain or operations strategy, and/or strategic level decisions of Adidas, to identify key issues they faced currently and provide reasonable suggestion regarding supply chain/operations strategic management by consider the current digital era to improve its organisational or supply chain related performance.

-In this section, student could conduct critical discussion and evaluation on Adidas’ current supply chain/operations strategy or its strategic decision (e.g. outsourcing, reshoring, new technology implementation in operations etc.), as well as analyse whether the current strategy or strategic decision fit well to the business core value/strategy identified in the question (1). Further by combing the understanding of the key issues Adidas faced and assessing the current performance of the corporate, students are requested to provide practical suggestion for its supply chain/operation strategic management within the current digital era aiming to achieve a better bits between business needs and operations practices, as well as to improve the organisational and Supply Chain performance.

Higher marks will be earned where students follow the Marking Criteria and particularly those who demonstrate evidence of wide reading and research around the application of the strategy, supply chain, and/or operations management theories identified within the module in the context of the requested organization.
