How and why you have developed as a learner during this module

·Introduce the essay itself.  What is it about and what is its purpose?

·Introduce yourself as a learner.  A brief introduction about your education so far and your learning style (Visual/Auditory/Read/Kinaesthetic).  You can refer to VARK.  

·Explain your experiences as a learner on your course at OBC so far.  You can refer to the knowledge and skills you have learnt such as leaning styles, public speaking/presentation skills, reading strategies (skimming, scanning, detailed reading), the importance of listening, the importance of Harvard referencing

·Say what type of learner you are: independent learner, class-based learner, pragmatic, theorist, reflector and/or activist.

·Define ‘reflection’.  Explain how it differs to other types of thinking.

·Reflect on how you used to learn in the past.   What was your approach to learning before joining the Bucks New University Foundation Degree at OBC and was it effective?

·Reflect on your learning as it is happening now at OBC.  How do you feel you are developing as a learner since you started studying at OBC 5 or 6 weeks ago?  Are you improving as a learner?

·Reflect on what you think your learning will be like in the future.  How do you imagine it will it differ to your learning now?

How any why you have developed as a learner during this module (you should focus on minimum 3 academic skills)

After participating in the session on different reading strategies, now I know different reading strategies which can help me to achieve academic success

In the future, I will make more effort to read critically or using different reading strategies according to the needs.

However, after the session on research skills, I realised that research is a systematic process of finding out about something after carrying out data collection, data analysis and interpretation.

In the future, I will be more focused on looking at the data collection methods before believing any research findings.

To find time to attend the classes as it involves sacrificing work and family commitments

To complete all my coursework related activities whilst I’m in College

To prioritise study related activities. Not going to party when my course work is due.

To improve my academic and time management skills

To download blackboard app and read the lecture materials whilst I use public transport

To categorise coursework submission dates as urgent and important tasks
