This assignment has been designed to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your achievement of the following module learning outcomes:
You are to write a professionally formatted 2,500-word, +/-10%, business report that addresses the task set above and detailed below.
Using appropriate academic theory, models and professional sources, you are to analyse and evaluate the leadership and management of the organization in order to classify and compare academic theory with professional practice.
You are then required to assess the impact of the leadership and management in relation to its overall performance drawing upon business performance metrics as required from a wide cross section of business performance analysis. Note, comparison and benchmarking to ‘best in field’ or ‘best in class’ is strongly recommended in order to provide context and comprehension of the data used.
Organizations should ideally be selected based on the sector the student wishes to enter as a graduate and provide access to enough research material and data to enable completion of the task. Note, films, interviews, documentary’s, podcasts as well as news, research reports, booksand case studies can all be used as part of the organizational research but, this is not a definitivelist and the student is strongly encouraged to be creative and original in any primary and secondary research activities used to gather insight in to the organizations leadership and management.

This assessment takes the format of a 2,500-word, +/-10%, maximum of 20 pages from introduction to recommendation, professionally produced report that would be suitable for use in the boardroom of a FTSE100 company. You are to complete the task set. The report must apply models andtheoretical concepts and be supported by evidence, with references, from reputable sources throughout.
You should also refer to contemporary data sources as well as market data insight from sources such as CIPD, ILM, McKinsey, Harvard Business Review and other such reputable sources including content drawn from the core texts and lecture series.
Front cover, executive summary, contents page, reference pages and appendices are NOT included in either the page count or the word count that have been allocated. Words used in tables, charts, diagrams are also NOT included in the word count. Note we do not expect to see any Wikipedia, Investopedia, Business Balls, Slide Share, and Essays4U, Term Papers or other spurious non-academic non-reputable sources within your work or in the reference list. Font size should be 11 with single line spacing. Reference list should be presented in the Harvard format along with in text referencing and there is a maximum of 4 pages allocated to appendices should you need them.
Research should use journals and texts sourced through the university e-learning resources database and professional journals/resources only. The use of spurious and non-core materials and references will be investigated and, if necessary, referred to the university academic misconduct panel.
