BRM3004 Developing a Research Project

Question:

In this proposal I have the chance to set up my goals for my future career as a beauty technician and gain more knowledge about my chosen career path in opening my own boutique/ salon. Research would be my main aim in order for me to gather as much information as I can to be able to understand the chosen career path I chose. Not only do I have to research about the beauty technician career but also research about owing a business career. Experience would be my second aim, knowing the needed experience is very important to be able to understand the chosen project.

Rationale:

I have chosen this project to research and gain more knowledge about it because it is what I am aiming to be in the future and for my career wise it’s also my dream job to be a beauty technician/ a business woman. I have been interested in the creative industry since a young ago therefore I have chosen this career path to be able to explore my talent as well as gaining new experiences and develops my skills. Art is not only on papers so is creativity, there’s art in everywhere! I also would like to inspire more people to get involved in creating a business with their chosen path. In this recent time hair and beauty is important to most females in different ages, therefore being a beauty technician and owing a business in that matter would be helpful for the people in the area.

Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate the ability to plan, develop, and manage a project from inception through to completion.

·Shown in the completion of the WRIT1 proposal including a working title, research rationale, aims and objectives of the research, indicative bibliography, and research timetable. Also shown in the completion of the WRIT2 research project in line with the proposal.

Extend their research skills required to complete academic work including; accessing print and online library resources, notetaking, and the use of Harvard referencing.

·Demonstrated by the ability to select appropriate sources, and to correctly reference relevant source materials from academic books, journal articles and online materials in order to present clear, supported evidence.

Communicate clearly and appropriately for academic and professional purposes

·Demonstrated through the structuring of the WRIT2 research project, and the use of academic language.

Analyse relevant sources and use them to create a structured argument / critical commentary regarding a research product
