Task brief
The management of airports is a mixture of demands on management including the following –
·Successfully managing the performance of the airport from the perspective of airlines and passengers and other stakeholders requires the selection of key benchmarking processes and key performance indicator (KPIs)
From The Perspective Of The Evaluation Of Airport Benchmarks For The Passenger Experience Please Construct A Survey To Be Completed By Passengers Using Three Major London Airports – Heathrow , Gatwick And Stansted (Airports X, Y And Z).
Stage 1-
Please Complete A Short Introduction To The Concept Of Benchmarking And How By Benchmarking Service Quality This Can Can Provide Actions For Airport Management Linked To Service Quality For Passenger Processing. This Is Suggested To Be Linked To A New Method Of Service Evaluation Whereby Passengers Down-Load An App To Their Mobile In Which The Data Is Recorded Authomatically.
Stage 2 -
Survey For Departing Passengers – Data On Passengers Departure From Airport X, Y Or Z Will Be Collected About The Departure Processes At The Gate Prior To Boarding. Please Construct The Data Questions You Feel Are Appropriate To Be Completed For Service Evaluation.
Stage 3-
Survey For Arriving Passengers – Data On Passengers On Arrival To Airport X, Y Or Z Will Be Collected By A Series Of Data Questions About The Arrivals Processes At The Airports. Please Construct The Data Questions You Feel Are Appropriate To Be Completed For Service Evaluation.
Stage 4-
A Short Summary - Highlighting What The Survey Will Provide For Airport Management At Airport X, Y Or Z For The Purpose Of Benchmarking Between Each Other And How This Can Help The Airport Management Understand The Strengths And Weaknesses Of Each Airport For Passenger Processing.
Task structure
The assessment requires a concise set of notes to support answering the set task etc. The style is REPORT STYLE so there should be headings and sub-headings.
The appendix can be used to show additional notes and supporting analysis without adding to the word count.
Task weightings
This report is weighted as 80% of the module marks.
STAGE 1 - Introduction – scene setting for benchmarking (25%)
STAGE 2 - Survey 1 – survey questions for departing passengers (25%)
STAGE 3 - Survey 2 – survey questions for arriving passengers (25%)
STAGE 4 - Conclusion – a summary of the issues and how this can assist the success of airport management (25%)
Submission
The following submission instructions apply and must be strictly adhered to:
The normal University submission rules apply to this assignment.
The document should be uploaded in a timely manner to web-learn (turn-it-in) by the set date on this document.
General Assignment Guidance
Teamwork work and individual grades Should this assignment require you to work as part of a team, you will receive an individual grade based upon your performance as well as personalised feedback. The module leader will explain how your individual grade and feedback will be determined.
IMPORTANT NOTICE - Importance of Word Counts and Presentation Timings Assignment word counts and presentation timings should always be observed. Ignoring a word count increases significantly the risk of your work losing marks because it lacked structure, flow, focus and clarity.
Timings must be observed for assessed presentations for the same reasons.
Submission of work to TURN-IT-IN - It is normal to submit your work by the specified date onto the e platform of TURN-IT-IN via weblearn.
The method of submission is vital and work MUST BE THEREFORE HANDLED IN A TIMELY MANNER.
See guidance for submission here
