What am I required to do in this assignment?
You are required to produce an individual report demonstrating the link between the business environment and global network airlines and how the, wider, business environment influences the operational decisions of specific FSNC (full service network carrier) of your choice.
Â
In your report in Part 1 (theory) you should describe and explain the business environment of global network airlines using at least one strategic analysis framework to analyse the business environment of todayâs FSNCs: PESTEL, Porterâs Five Forces or Value Chain analysis. Show how these factors (i.e. the business environment) influence global airlinesâ operational decisions e.g. competition, market growth, market served; new entrants; legal actions, relationship with suppliers (such as airports, manufacturers or fuel companies); external events; political decisions; industry regulations etc. using pertinent examples from individual FSNCs to illustrate your point/s. This part of the analysis is generic (i.e. not for a specific airline).
Â
In the second part (Part 2 - practice) you should then analyse the link between the business environment of your chosen airline and their operational choices (such as: routes served; choice of alliances/code shares; aircraft types; hub operations; terminals used; Â ground handling; products and services offered etc.) to show the specific impacts the wider business environment (you have referenced in Part 1)Â
Instructions:

The report should be uploaded on EMAÂ

3. Introduction: a brief outline of your reportâs contents and scene-setting material. It is crucial that you keep this succinct yet informative.
4. Part 1 - Description and explanation of the current business environment of global network airlines using a strategic analysis framework
5. Part 2 - Analysis of the link between the, wider, business environment of global network airlines and the operations of your selected airline
