Leadership Theory and its Application: An Evidence-based Video Presentation

You are required to create a 5-minute video presentation to evidence your knowledge and understanding of leadership theory and its application to a chosen leader. In addition, you must prepare a powerpoint presentation showing your understanding and critique of Leadership theory, the difference between leadership and management. You will provide the link to your Youtube video on the second slide of your powerpoint presentation.

The video must be uploaded to YouTube – using a Privacy Setting of “Unlisted”. The link to your video must be provided on the second slide of your presentation
which will be submitted via Turnitin before the deadline.

Analyse traditional and contemporary approaches to leadership and discuss how these can be combined and adapted to enhance leadership in organisations. Students will have a thorough grounding in leadership theory, commencing with the ‘Trait’ approach through to George’s more recent ‘Authentic’ approach. In addition, they will undertake a series of self-assessment questionnaires to determine their own leadership style and preference, and how they can be adapted to meet changing need. Students will be able to evaluate how a leader supports and develops understanding of the organisations’ strategy.
