Instructions and Learner Declaration
• An electronic copy of your assessment must be fully uploaded by the deadline date and time.
• You must submit one single PDF or MS Office Word document. Any relevant images or screenshots must be included within the same MS Office Word or PDF document.
• The last version you upload will be the one that is marked. Your paper will be marked if you have indicated this as your final submission.
• Review the mitigating circumstances policy for information relating to extensions.
• The file size must not exceed 20MB.
• Answer the criteria in order, clearly indicating the pass criteria number.
• Ensure that all work has been proof-read and checked prior to submission.
• Ensure that the layout of your documents are in a professional format with font style Arial, font size 12 for the text, font 14 for sub heading and font 16 for main heading, line spacing 1.5 and justified.• Use the Harvard referencing system; otherwise it will be considered as plagiarised work.
• Ensure that you back-up your work regularly and apply version control to your documents.
• Ensure that any file you upload is virus-free, not corrupted and not protected by a password otherwise it will be treated as a non-submission.
• You must NOT submit a paper copy or email of this assessment to any member of staff at FSB.
• Your work must be original with the appropriate Harvard referencing. You will be penalised for none or wrong referencing.
Introduction and guidance
This assessment enables you to meet the requirements of one unit of the BA Business Level 5 Foundation in Business (FdA) course.
The assessment requires you to develop and demonstrate your skills and knowledge in Entrepreneurship based on your application of Entrepreneurial theories and models.
To complete the given tasks, you will need to draw upon your experience during the course, workplace as well as any relevant work experience.
Please ensure that the assessments you produce for this course address the relevant assessment criteria listed under each part. All parts must be completed and submitted.
Entrepreneurship and the World Economy
Assessment Brief:
In this assignment, you are required to critically evaluate the role of UK Entrepreneurs and how they developed their international approaches to Entrepreneurship, their contributions to technological innovations and its impact on society at large. You are to select two entrepreneurs and consider the following:
• Examine the characteristics and the role of Entrepreneurs.
• Critically evaluate how Entrepreneurs have contributed to the UK economy.
• Critically evaluate how the UK has contributed to entrepreneurial development.
Suggested Assignment Structure:
Title Page
• This should clearly show the question you have selected to answer
• This should show your student name and FSB ID number.
Contents Page
• This should have clear titles and sub-titles correctly formatted.
• This should have the titles of all tables/ diagrams used throughout the essay.
• This should present a clear list of any appendices provided.
Introduction (Recommended words: 300, (10%)
• This section should briefly outline what the essay will be discussing. You can use the structure of your Contents Page as a guideline for this.
• You should provide names or people and organisations you examine in your essay.
Main Body (Recommended words: 2,700, (65%)
• Examine the characteristics and the role of Entrepreneurs.
• Critically evaluate how Entrepreneurs have contributed to the UK ECONOMY.
• Critically evaluate how the UK has contributed to Entrepreneurship.
• Use at least two real world relevant examples from well-known entrepreneurs. These should be used to support your points and arguments.
• Provide a concise and well researched argument utilising current literature.
• All statements of facts, figures or ideas from literature used in the research of your essay must be Harvard Referenced.
• This section should include graphs, tables and statistical support for your arguments.
Conclusion / Summary (Recommended words: 500, (15%)
• This should summarise the key points made in your essay.
• This section should not introduce any new information.
References, Structure and Formatting (10%)
• It is recommended that you provide at least 20 relevant bibliography references. Of this at least 5 should be from books and at least 10 should be from relevant peer reviewed journals or articles.
• Work must be written in an Academic Writing.
• A clear and concise layout for the assessment must be presented with the relevant structure.
• All selected literature should be from valid sources. It is not acceptable to reference from
indiscriminate websites.
Appendices
• This section can be used for relevant information which contributes towards the assessment. This includes supporting data, documents and relevant information used to develop your work.
