The Major Project Proposal requires you to provide a 2000-word plan of your Major Project. It will highlight and justify your proposed research problem/question and integrate information on the potential literature and methodological approaches you will consider during the Major Project. The proposal will also outline your planned schedule and required resources. In addition to the written proposal, you must also deliver a 5-minute in-class presentation outlining the proposal’s content. Successfully completing the proposal provides you with the approval to proceed to the Major Project stage in the following module.

Students are required to:

  • Carry out a 5-minute (±10%) in-class presentation on the proposal;

  • Use relevant books, journals and creative sources as research material;
  • Ensure that all sources are referenced according to the referencing guidelines;
  • Format the proposal in adherence with the formatting guidelines;
  • Follow the structure outlined on the next page.
  1. ?Introduction?: This section should focus on the research problem and/or research question(s), leading the reader to understand the basic objectives and limitations of the project. You must justify your case for a BA or a BSc clearly and briefly outline your chosen supervisor.
  1. ?Rationale and Significance:? This section should state the reasons for undertaking the research project, as proposed in the introduction. It should also indicate how the project is relevant to a creative media industry, highlight its significance to the wider society and explain why it will contribute to your knowledge and understanding of the chosen field of study.
