Assignment Details and Instructions: Choose any large organisation which is operating in the UK for the second assessment. Assume that this organisation is considering outsourcing their business analytics department from its corporate headquarters and invited to submit the initial proposals with the specification below from interested firms. In order to be successful, you have to strictly follow the specification of the organisation: Interested parties will prepare a maximum of 15 minutes presentation for the organisation on the following areas:

 

1. Summarise from the literature the emerging trends in business analytics and discuss how business analytics could be used in conjunction with the data available to the chosen large organisation.

 

2. Access the FAME database (subscribed by MMU) to acquire data related to your chosen large organisation. In a rare case that there is no (or insufficient) data available, please simulate your data.

 

3. Use this data to illustrate how three separate advanced business analytics techniques can be employed by the business analytics department to inform organisational decision making. You have been given a maximum of 15 minutes to present your findings.
