How to Develop Affordable Housing: A Business Proposal
The Business Concept
For the purpose of your CISE coursework you are expected to produce a concise business proposal in the form of a report showcasing your plan of how your business venture can potentially solve this contemporary issue. In your proposal you are to demonstrate the viability of your business concept for developing affordable houses. Your plan will be considered for implementation not just by the government but by various stakeholders.
i) The Business Concept:
- outline your ambitious and enterprising business venture for developing affordable houses in the UK
- clearly highlight the uniqueness of your idea
ii) The Entrepreneurial Marketing StrategyÂ
- identify a market segment and target audience for your venture
- what is the value proposition? Are there any schemes or initiatives you can build into your plan in order to support these targeted individuals?
- given that other students are submitting their proposals vying for the same initiative, how do you plan to demonstrate the competitiveness of your business venture?
iii) Business Risks and strategic options
- what are the potential challenges for starting, launching and running your proposed business venture?
- what is your plan for effectively managing these challenges?
- what would be your fallback plan given the challenges posed by the corona virus (COVID-19), economic crisis, Brexit etc.?
iv) Business Operations
- highlight the resources needed for your venture
- what is your plan for acquiring the resources you do not have?
- what is your plan for executing the development of these houses?
- have you identified the location your houses?
v) Financial Plan
- propose the start-up capital you will need and justify your projection
- produce a basic financial plan highlighting your projections (cashflow forecast) clearly spelling out your revenue and costs
- through your financial projections show how the scalability of your business plan
- for any positive and/or negative cash flows in your financial plan, explain what might be causing those fluctuations.
