What was learned about working in managing a given team through the preparation of the group's presentation.
Team building is always a fundamental parameter that nearly every organization has been looking forward to implementing with the intention of becoming more competitive across different market platforms (Aga, Noorderhaven, and Vallejo, 2016). Again, one of the primary reasons as to why a vast range of team leaders usually prefer to implement reasonable team-building strategies is because it provides a perfect opportunity of coming up with new ideas within the organizational boundaries that will always provide the first opportunity of various operations to be carried out with a lot of ease and within the shortest time possible (Breuer, Hüffmeier and Hertel, 2016). There are a variety of issues that I was able to learn about team building and effective teamwork from the full case study. Firstly, to come up with a capable team, there is the need to choose and a reasonable and reliable leader. Team leaders are usually the core pillars of any given team since they are the ones to provide an appropriate path the entire team should follow to make sure that various goals and objectives are attained within a proper time frame (Guchait, Lei, and Tews, 2016). As a result, when building a team, there is, therefore, the need to come up with various team leaders who tend to have a high level of flexibility when it comes to inviting different personalities to join the entire team. This is clear from Chris deed by making an extra mile of welcoming such an essential opportunity.
On the other hand, I also learned that to come up with a competent team; there is the need to consider two different factors that will further provide an opportunity of evaluating the kind of personalities that are required within the group. Firstly, during team building, there is the need to choose people with better skills and are highly experienced to the extent that they can distinguish the exact things that should be done together with the ones that should always be avoided. This is one kind of team-building strategy that has been implemented by Chris in the case study, where she was concerned with getting access to various professionals with excellent skills and experience in the entire DSS consulting process. At the same time, team building and teamwork are all about working together towards one direction to attain one specific objective as a team (Hanaysha, 2016). Chris, who is part of the case study, had been focused on the need to have various individuals who would be able to work together without any negative issues arising. This is an effective and reliable teamwork strategy since the nature of the entire work that is to be done within an organization is not able to meet its objectives if people encounter a lot of troubles when it comes to working together as a team (Xyrichis and Ream, 2017). Moreover, for effective teamwork to exist within the boundaries of a given organization, various team members need to be able to adequately interact with one another since this is one of the perfect opportunities that can provide an ideal understanding about a person's personality concerning what an individual supports together with what he or she is against (Keavney, 2016). For effective teamwork to take place within any organization, the team members need to be located together within the shortest time possible. The co-location of the entire team is a fundamental strategy that provides the whole group with a perfect opportunity for the team to get a quick start of various significant deliverables that are likely to contribute towards the development of new products within the boundaries of an organization.
Furthermore, collocating teamwork will also further prevent the entire team from getting disrupted by several uncertainties that are likely to exist within the surrounding environment (Lacerenza et al., 2018). For a team-building to contribute towards effective teamwork, it is essential for the team leader to adequately identify various spaces together with a more reasonable plan that is likely to bring the entire team together (Lykourentzou et al., 2016). Chris is a team leader, was able to put a lot of focus in this kind of strategy to make her team move forward effectively.
Concerning what is captured in the case study, I realized that for effective teamwork to be implemented in any given organization, there is the need of the team members to be together and share their respective experiences with one another. Chris believed that the first step that would benefit the entire team is the ability to share their experiences and going as far as making good use of their collective knowledge to adequately identify one or more new products that tend to be having higher potential. Again, she believed that the initial job of the team members would involve helping the entire group to pull together as far as their experiences are concerned. In one of the organizations that I have been able to work for at one point, the sharing of experiences among the team members provided up with an opportunity of coming up with various essential ideas that were more reasonable since it was a collective form of thought which further enables the whole team to overcome different barriers thus this led towards sufficient teamwork that was focused towards attaining a vast range of goals on behalf of the entire organization. To scale up high levels of sufficient collaboration, a group should be in a position of holding several meetings to discuss specific essential perspectives that are related to what the team is doing (Manser, 2016). Sharing views through the holding of various meetings like what was taking place within the group that Chris implemented is essential since it provides an opportunity for all the team members to feel comfortable when it comes to sharing a vast range of essential information with one another. If any form of disagreement is likely to emerge, this can provide the team with a reliable opportunity to deal with the situation without the creation of any mode of substantial delay (Moore, Everly, and Bauer, 2016). In one of the organizations that I was able to conduct my attachment, I realized that sharing of various ideas among the team members to scale up sufficient teamwork. It is one strategy that can lead to the realization of multiple problems that needs to be solved to become very competitive. It made the whole team realize that the organization's product was not unique enough to capture the attention of the targeted audience. As a result, we had to go back to the drawing board to capture some of the best strategies that we could implement to make sure that the products became unique as much as possible across different market platforms. All this can be done by the implementation of effective teamwork. This means that effective teamwork can help to realize various issues that could not be realized before without combining ideas from different people (Nikitenkoet al., 2017). The same thing can be seen from the group that Chris was able to implement were one of the significant issues that emerged from the whole discussion was that the small districts appeared to be lacking any mode of integrated systems that could be used to link various plans and budgets within a given time frame.
Working in and managing a team through the preparation of a group presentation slide PowerPoint is something that was able to bring on board a vast range of issues. Firstly, it brings on board serious feelings that are related to motivation (Shaw et al., 2016). It brings a lot of motivation to various personalities, thereby providing an opportunity to work hard towards a given direction. On the other hand, I was also able to learn that it is all about generating a bigger picture by trying as much as possible to be integrative and also going as far as focusing on various issues that are related to ideation. At the same time, I came to realize that being organized and detail-oriented when it comes to working in and managing a given team is something that can be able to provide a perfect opportunity of achieving a vast range of problems at an early stage to come up with appropriate strategies that will be used in the elimination of the entire issue. Moreover, I realized that it is an essential strategy that further provides an opportunity to set up various goals and objectives that will be able to give an appropriate direction regarding the path that needs to be followed. This further offers an opportunity of becoming more competitive in terms of delivering the products and services that are always required within a particular time frame. Various team leaders need to develop a clear understanding of how best they can still manage their respective teams through the implementation of appropriate and reliable strategies (Sherstyuk, Olekh, and Kolesnikova, 2016). This will make sure that a vast range of goals and objectives are attained within a stipulated time frame, thereby providing an opportunity to scale up to higher levels (Stevens and Campion, 2016).
