Building Organisational Resilience at Flavour Foods Restaurant - A Comprehensive Proposal
Answered

Plagiarism

“Plagiarism is the practice of presenting the thoughts, writings or other output of another or others as original, without acknowledgement of their source(s). All material used to support a piece of work, whether a printed publication or from electronic media, should be appropriately identified and referenced and should not normally be copied directly unless as an acknowledged quote. Text translated into the words of the individual student should in all cases acknowledge the source.

• All material identified as originally from a previously published source has been properly attributed by the inclusion of an appropriate citation in the text;

• Direct quotations are marked as such (using “quotation marks” at the beginning and end of the selected text), and

• Full details of the reference citations have been included in the list of references (in Harvard format).

Coursework received late, without valid reason, will be regarded as a non-submission (NS) and one of your assessment opportunities will be lost. If the word count of an assessment is considered critical, then this will be reflected in the assessment criteria for that assessment together with any consequent penalties.

Flavour Foods is an exquisite restaurant seated at the centre of Glasgow city. Roberto Giovanni, started the business from scratch without help from investors and bankers. His motivation was a passion for good tasty food and wine in an elegant scenery. A variety of professionally prepared dishes are offered to customers in well-designed or stylish cubicles. It combines popular American food with traditional Italian dishes and caters for all dietary needs.

The restaurant has expanded over 25 years and opened two other branches in the city. However, recent economic and health issues in the UK and around the world exposed the business to unprecedented challenges with concerns of how to remain sustainable. Roberto closed his restaurant in March 2020 due to the global pandemic during which all his staff were furloughed. This had a significant impact on revenues and more importantly, on the well-being of staff. Despite the lifting of restrictions and the new operating guidelines set in place for business, there is growing trepidation that the restaurant may not survive the next year.

Roberto has consulted you, a resilience and change management expert, to prepare a comprehensive proposal that will critically analyse possible solutions to building organisational resilience within the company and discuss how they might be met. Your report should focus on the following:

An evaluation of approaches to building organisational resilience within Flavour Foods restaurant.

An appraisal on how to enhance employee wellbeing within the organisation.

An evaluation of resilient leadership and its influence on change management as the restaurant struggles to remain operational.

Recommendations and conclusions that you would propose to Roberto Giovanni.

This is a fictitious case study and you are free to make assumptions where you do not have adequate information, but it is important that you state within the text, what the assumptions are. You should also be aware that lengthy summaries of the details of this case study are not required and will therefore not attract academic credit. The focus of the report, following succinct identification and clarification of the relevant issues and problems, must be firmly upon evaluation and analysis, providing appropriate conclusions and recommendations.

The aim of this module is to provide students with an ability to analyse the concept of organisational resilience and evaluate how resilience can be built within a contemporary organisation.

A cover page is required with the word count displayed. 10% over or under this limit is acceptable. Failure to keep within 10% of the designated word count will result in a penalty of a reduction of one grade. Any appendices you may attach are not included in the word count. You must include a statement on the front cover of your work that gives the word count. You must comply with staff requests to submit to Turnitin and provide a receipt where asked to do so.
