Assignment Brief

• You are a Chemical Engineer working as the Environment Manager for an innovative Scottish company, Planet Protectors Ltd.
  

• Planet Protectors Ltd wish to contribute to Scotland's transition to a more circular economy (via the biological loops in the butterfly diagram) by investing in a centralised anaerobic digestion (AD) process plant for treating organic material and converting it to renewable energyand a low-cost bio-fertiliser.

In your role as a Chemical Engineer working as the Environment Manager for Planet Protectors Ltd, the Board of Directors has requested you prepare a report which includes the following:

1. Research and identify five (5) key pieces of environmental legislationthe company will need to comply with in order to compliantly deliver this circular economy based project during the construction and/or operational stages of this project.
