You are the client’s project manager of a £ 340 million building projects located in Central London. The project is a new build shopping centre building. The project is Design and Build and the duration of the project is 36 months and the client is keen to minimise environmental impact and the government are interested to help towards any sustainable activities. You are entitled to get the best rates on behalf of client for materials from suppliers and get the experienced subcontractors if needed for different activities.

 

Part A.
i) Discuss any potential environmental, economic and historic & cultural issues and challenges, which might result in significant costs and delays for the project. 20 marks
ii) Explain four different types of renewable energy or sustainable sources that could be used for this project and clarify reasons for your choices. 20 marks

 

Part B.
i) Describe the supply chain management & procurement of material resources for this project. 20 marks
ii) Identify the principle of health & safety factors which needs to be considered for this project within the production stage and explain the risk associated with that. 20 marks

 

Part c.
i) Discuss the necessary of any passive or active system for this project at the design stage by implementing of any tools or technique and explain what would be the impact of that on the environment. 15 marks
