The research and development project is a group in-course assessment (50% of module marks). You will be required to sign a group learning contract provided by the University, for Part A, the group component.
You are required to undertake a social campaign on an environmental concern affecting global warming. You can either develop or share your campaign using Twitter. Your Campaign is to be managed within Blackboard only, so that your information management evidence is captured.
Part A will require research and a small development opportunity for a social campaign using information management principles. The group activities: group presentation plus individual reflective report will assess understanding of facts and issues connected with Digital Information Management.
Get into a preferred group (size 3-4 students)
1.Create your social campaign on Twitter, with an active presence on this platform, in order to promote your ‘social cause’ (30%)
2.Prepare an eight (8) minute group presentation demonstrating what and how as a group you implemented digital information management principles and tools (i.e. technologies) in your Campaign using Panopto and upload to Blackboard (30%)
3.Prepare an individual reflective report of 1000 words. It should cover a description and reflection of your personal, social and technical contribution. In particular, your understanding of the digital information management concepts applied. (30%)
4.Blackboard groups: Group communication and dynamics, content, participation, engagement in co-creation and use of Blackboard functionality. (10%)
The second Research Project is an individual in-course assessment (50% of module marks). The coursework considers the role of digital information management in society and in particular contemporary organisations. The essay will assess understanding of facts and issues connected with Digital Information Management. The essay will require research into taught digital information management concepts being applied in an essay.

This will form your theoretical perspective/literature review illustrating the role of information management within the context of organisations.
Having chosen from this literature, apply any three of the above-mentioned information management concepts to analyse the process of information management in a digital service or organisation.
Discuss from three perspectives (i.e. the perspectives of your three chosen concepts) how the role of information management supports and builds competitive advantages into your selected digital service or organisation.
