1. Misleading Food Advertisements Some people believe that food and drink manufacturers are at least partly to blame for the obesity epidemic because of misleading advertising. For example,their advertisements show portion sizes that encourage excess consumption and make people believe that certain unhealthy substitute are the equivalent of a well -balanced meal. Advertisements also lead children to desire sugar-coated cereals and fructose-loaded drinks. Do you think the government should regulate such advertising? If so, how extensive should the regulations be?if not,how might parents counter the effects of such advertising? OR 

 

2. Saving Species from Extinction Species that are more prone to certain risk factors are more likely than others to become extinct. For example,species with a unique lineage,such as a giant panda,are likely to be at severe risk of extinction. Should our limited resources for species protection be focussed on species that are at the highest risk of extinction? Some argue that high-risk species are less successful products of evolution and should not receive extraordinary protection:consequently,all species at risk of extinction should be equally protected.
