This study deals with case study questions based upon a company named Microsoft ("How To Make A Microserf Smile", 2007). On analysis, it is noticed that Microsoft stock prices drifted for years and faced stiff competition from rivalry firms like Google (Armstrong & Armstrong, 2011). This particular study brings out the HRM issues with proper justifications and solutions for the same. For this, Ballmer decided to appoint HR Chief internally so that it helps the company in improving the mood. He appointed Lisa Brummel as the new HR Chief who worked for Microsoft under Product Manager from past years. This was shocking news for the employees as well as Lisa herself who had the responsibility in managing the workforce all alone (Bondarouk & Olivas-Lujan, 2013).
