Create an annotated bibliography with entries for five research sources on one of the cultural texts we are studying in our course. Three of your sources must be scholarly sources (scholarly books or peer-reviewed journal articles). For each source, provide a brief summary, an assessment, and a reflection on how you will use it in your research essay. The document should be formatted consistently using MLA style.
This assignment is meant to help you look into what others have written about the cultural text and develop a thesis for your research paper. As an option, for a bonus mark, you may include a proposed or working thesis statement related to energy at the end of your bibliography.
Choose a cultural text you want to focus on, and a more specific topic related to that text (e.g. the representation of the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfire in The Beast)
Visit the library website and do database searches to find research sources. Your sources can be other scholars’ arguments about the cultural text, or sources that help provide historical or cultural context (e.g. sources about the fire or the genre of Afrofuturism), or sources on a lens you plan to use for your reading (e.g. intersectionality or energy justice). Choose sources as close as possible to your topic not necessarily the first ones that come up in your search.
